Everybody’s changing

“Everybody’s changing but I dont feel the same”
Somehow the words of Keane’s song - Everybody’s Changing explains pretty much my thoughts on my surrounding. The people, environment, everything.

For one, youngsters nowadays are getting weak. Weak. Weak emotionally as well as physically. Emotionally because they simply love to brood over a failed relationship for a million years. As if brooding wasn’t enough, they’ll lack the capacity to think something thoroughly and do something stupid. Really stupid. A very nice example would be that of the recent Mr Dave Teo. No offense to any parties involved but sad to say, he’s an epitome of the weakness I’m talking about. I’m definitely talking in general here but tell me you don’t know of someone close to you that’s not in a spot like I just explained above. Trust me. Every single circle of friends nowadays has these people. Worse if the whole group are weak.

What happened to the strength our forefathers had? If they were anything like us nowadays, Singapore would be far from what it is now. Mental, emotional, physical strength. A needle in a haystack they are in this age. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a culprit myself. WAS rather. But after thinking it through, I realised, that its not really reasonable to have something/someone to blame for your own weakness. Your own mistakes. Everything you do, be it right or wrong, is of your own coordinated actions of hands and legs. Unless a wizard just brainwashed you, I’m pretty sure, people nowadays make decisions of their own.

They blame their mistakes on other’s influence on themselves when in actual fact, they are too weak in actually letting these people influence them. Even so, people can only go so much in influencing others. They cant and do not make decisions for others. No one does. So what use is there in blaming others? Always blame yourself for your inability to perform something to what you expect. You are always in the wrong first. Get that drilled into your head first, then analyse what went wrong. You’d learn much more from doing so then going on and on blaming other factors other than yourself for what happened.

Why are all these happening in the first place? Didnt our fathers/grandfathers bring us up correctly? They’re strong so genetically, we should be too right? Wrong. The current generation of Singaporeans, or even globally, are very much in their comfort zone. Everything’s there for the taking. What else need we do? This is the very mindset that is bringing the moral downfall and eventually, the overall social downfall of the world. Put aside the select few, people are satisfied enough with what there is in the world. The technology is there, jobs are there, infrastructures are there. All they have to do is just be the worker bee and do what everyone else does. You definitely won’t go wrong with that. Absolutely.

But we’ll never progress any further. Not that I should care much since doomsday would eventually bring about the world’s downfall, still. In the years before doomsday, the world currently is just proving the prophecies in the Quran to be right time and time again. Even with this evidence of the truth of Islam, people continue to despise the religion with misunderstandings they never bothered to understand. Why so?

The world is deteriorating socially, morally and sadly enough, not a miracle in the world can save it. A sad sight to observe but nonetheless, the least you and I can do right now is be strong. Or be gone.
